In order to better understand e-discovery, it is essential to understand the process of litigation in the United States and how U.S. rules have changed to account for electronic
discovery. It is also imperative for IT departments in larger organizations—and some smaller ones as well—to prepare systems and policies in advance to meet potential demands in the new electronic litigation environment.
